We met through a mutual friend way back in 2001. We became good friends when Katie moved to Eugene, OR to attend the University of Oregon where Derek was already living and in his 3rd year at the U of O. After months of great friendship we began dating on April 19th 2002. That summer we both worked at Camp Harlow and really saw God’s beauty in one another and quickly fell deeply in love. By October we were engaged.
We married on September 6th, 2003 in Katie’s hometown, Bend Oregon. During our first year of marriage we stayed put in Eugene and just enjoyed living life, working and spending time with friends. The summer of 2004 we worked again at at Camp Harlow before moving away to Vancouver, British Columbia (in September 2004) for Derek to attend Graduate School at Regent College.
We lived in Vancouver for 3 years and had many great experiences, made amazing friends and enjoyed our Canadian adventure. During this time Derek fell more in love with school and the world of academia and he decided to pursue even further studies. In September 2007 we moved to Edinburgh, Scotland where Derek currently attends the University of Edinburgh and is working towards his PhD in Biblical Studies.

I found your contact from friends Fran & Andrew they knew you from Vancouver and when i came to Edinburgh they gave me your web , I so we have something in common God and coffee ha ha .
